The Southern Highlands are just over an hour from Sydney which makes it perfect for a weekend retreat. The area has undulating slopes and a cool climate, beautiful natural bush scenery and an ‘era gone by' feeling left over from the first British settlers. The British found a haven in the Southern Highlands with its cool mountain air, as of such you will find many old buildings and friendly townships dotted throughout the region.

The Southern Highlands is a boutique wine region comprised of small vineyards and wineries creating a range of wines. These growers practice careful viticulture with minimal irrigation and hand picking. The love poured into these wineries and vineyards is also evident by the high standard of cellar doors, winery restaurants and cafes.

The beautiful cool mountain airs of the region create a vast variety of wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz. The Southern Highlands are also becoming well known for its Pinot Gris and Merlot. There are several Italian and Spanish varieties grown in the area including the rare Arneis.
