New England Wineries and Vineyards

The New England wine region was officially established on January 23 2008. The region is the largest in NSW as of such the region offers diverse wine styles which is attributed to the variety of soils. The area is has a cool climate but also high humidity and rains in summer.

 

Vineyards are mostly to be found to the east and west of the New England Highway and are largely concentrated around Armidale, Glen Innes and Tenterfield.


Although a new wine region promise is being showing in the following varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Shiraz.


The region possesses fantastic national parks, good restaurants which use fine local produce and a range offer a wide range of accommodation services.
