King Valley Wineries and Vineyards

The wines of King Valley are diverse due to the vineyards varied elevation. The region starts at Wangaratta which is 150 metres above sea level and follows the King River to its source in the Great Dividing Range around the snowline. These vineyards of varying altitude and climate produce varying wines, however the key wines of the region are the Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. The region then diversifies further by growing Mediterranean varietals including Arneis, Barbero, Mezzamino, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese.

The area is predominantly a vineyard region however many wineries have opened cellar doors so the wine traveller can enjoy a good drop of wine and some great local produce.
