Grampians Wineries and Vineyards

The Grampians region debuted as a sparkling wine region, success followed when Charles Pierlot introduced the ‘methode champenoise' for sparkling wine production. Sparkling wine is still the foundation of the region however not to be overlooked are its high quality table wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Chasselas, Ondenc, Riesling and Shiraz.

These late ripening varieties need plenty of sun so they are planted on slopes to achieve maximum sunlight. The region sits at around 350 metres above sea level. The Grampians wine region is that of diversity and beauty, with cooler summer temperatures and plenty of cellar doors it is a popular destination for wine lovers.
