McLaren Vale Wine Region


McLaren Vale is one of Australia's oldest winemaking regions and is located only 30 minutes drive south of Adelaide. Visitors to the McLaren Vale wine region are met with a vista of soft rolling vineyards and charming townships, flanked by the South Lofty Ranges falling into the sea. The regions climate is mostly Mediterranean with fresh sea breezes and pleasant sunny days. Temperatures drop in the evening due to the cool night winds that float down from the Ranges. Currency Creek Wine Region


The Currency Creek wine region was established 30 years ago. It is located on the Fleurieu Peninsula and stretches west to Port Elliot to the coast of Lake Alexandria in the east. The region has a Mediterranean climate and is surrounded by water which controls the temperature. The region is quite young but produces high quality wines in a number of varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz. Kangaroo Island Wine Region


Kangaroo Island is a tranquil island which lies just off the coast of South Australia. The island is quite large with a circumference of around 400km. Kangaroo Island is home to an abundance of wildlife including Australia sea lions, penguins, Cape Barren goose and New Zealand fur seals. Langhorne Creek Wine Region


Langhorne Creek is located south of Adelaide between the township of Langhorne Creek and 40km south to Lake Alexandria. It is a little known region however it produces important wines, with the Cabernet Sauvignon being the most significant of the region. Lake Alexandria is Australia's biggest permanent freshwater lake and natural flood plain. The rich soils of the region and the almost perfect climate make Langhorne Creek an ideal viticultural area. The Cabernet Sauvignon produced here is the most distinctive of the region. Other varieties grown here include Chardonnay, Grenache, Merlot, Sangiovese, Shiraz and Verdelho. Southern Fleurieu Wine Region


Southern Fleurieu is located at the southern end of the Fleurieu Peninsula and is home to several boutique wineries and vineyards with cellar doors. The climate is Mediterranean with the vines enjoying cool breezes blowing from the west and south.
