Eden Valley Wineries and Vineyards

Eden Valley is primarily a vineyard region but also has several wineries with cellar doors which are not to be missed. It is a cool climate region located in part of the Mount Lofty Range between 400 and 600 metres above sea level. It is rugged country responsible for producing some of Australia's most delicate and elegant wines.

The first vineyard was planted in 1849 by Samuel Smith. The region has gradually grown since then to become one of Australia's most significant wine regions of today.

High Eden is a sub region and is located at the highest point of Eden Valley. High Eden has the coolest climate and is also incredibly tough to farm because of the high winds, low rainfall and hilly terrain.

The cool climates of Eden Valley and High Eden help produce exceptional Rieslings, Chardonnay and Shiraz.
