Cowra Wineries and Vineyards

The Cowra Wine Region is affectionately known as Chardonnay country. Although the Cowra Region has a long winemaking history it wasn't until the 70's until serious wine growing took place. After the first vineyard was created in 1973 the area quickly became recognised for its exceptional Chardonnay's. The 90's saw the emergence of the red grape in the area and now Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz are of equal importance.

The Cowra Wine region is located 320km West of Sydney in the Central Ranges zone of New South Wales. Harvest time begins in early March and continues to early April, this harvesting produces 10 million bottles of wine each year.
